On Wednesday Inside Adwords Blog posted an article about a new feature called sitelink descriptions. It appears as though it will improve CTR due to the increased size of the ads. I implemented the sitelink descriptions and saw them start to appear on our ads two days after implementation. We will be implementing this new feature throughout our paid search account over the next week.
To implement the sitelink descriptions go into your Adwords account then:
- Select the campaign you would like the sitelink descriptions to show
- click the Ad extensions tab
- select View: Sitelink Extensions
- Click Edit
- Click + New sitelink
- Fill out the fields
- Click Save
